Fall 2017 Transfer Thread

Hey guys,

I know it’s still early and we have a few months but this wait is killing me. Haha. What did you all apply with? (Major/GPA/in or out of state/credits, etc).

Major: BS Psychology
GPA: 3.9 in college and 3.4 in HS (probably why I got rejected honestly)
International Student
So far I have 50 credits but by Fall I’ll have 90
Can’t wait to hear back!! Really hoping I get in because I’ve been excited about attending UW for the last 4 years.

What about you?

“probably why I got rejected honestly” as in you got rejected in High School?

Major: Med. Anthropology/Global Health
GPA: 3.76
In state CC
I’ll have 90+ credits this spring, with my AA

I’m looking forward to hearing back as well, hoping it’s good news. Fingers crossed for everyone applying!!

Yes, I got rejected when I applied right after high school.

It would be great if you could look at my other thread as well: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/1976938-policy-on-high-school-grades.html#latest

Major: BS Biology (physiology option). My back up is Med. Anthropology/Global Health
GPA: 3.8 cumulative and 3.9 degree GPA
In state CC transfer - I will get my AA by the end of spring quarter 2017.
So far I have 90+ credits because I have transferred schools multiple times - explained in my PS

Good luck to all! I hope to get in this time. I was denied once back in 2015 after just graduating HS as a homeschool student.

I’d be shocked if you didn’t get in. Fingers crossed for Biology for you, but maybe you see around the MAGH department!

Major: Informatics
GPA: 3.84 cumulative
Out of state transfer
I have 59.5 credits from university, plus an additional 19 from AP scores that applied at my current university.

I’m nervous about any in state/out of state preference. Good luck everyone!

Major: Biochemistry
GPA: 3.84 cumulative
In state
94 credits after winter quarter
I’m nervous about whether or not I’ll get in. Most people I talk to say I will, but nothing is 100%.

Just received an email asking for additional information on my application. We may be under review at long last!
Good luck everyone.

I was just wondering @jcm4797 , when did send in ur transfer app?
Does this mean you got in? I remember most of my friends who got an email asking for more information got in last year but I don’t know how that works.

Oh wow! what were they asking for, if you don’t mind me asking?

God I hope we don’t have to wait until late July to find out. I’m a little nervous because after reviewing my application I realized I only wrote straight up paragraphs about what they were asking about and didn’t make it into a “story” per se or creative, so that’s got me worried. eeek. oh well, too late now. Hopefully being prepared for major, having a fairly good gpa and being in state transfer with an AA will make up for that mishap. haha

I sent in my application in the middle of January. The email was asking for updated transcripts with additional coursework that I had not put on my initial application.

They also asked me for additional informations few weeks ago too! I hope it means they are reviewing our applications throughly

Did they ask you for updated transcripts as well?? exciting times are happening!!

The admission office asked me for additional information too. They wanted me to explain an academic gap since I am not a traditional student and apperently I did not explain it very clear in my PS so I feel kinda nervous rn.

IMO that’s a good sign. If you were out, they wouldn’t have asked I feel. What’s your info (GPA, AA, Instate/outstate)?

So I’m applying for the summer but some confusion happened and two applications were up. Basically it said I was applying for summer and fall 2017 which is a big issue and can get my entire application removed. I emailed them about this and today someone from the admissions office emailed me a confirmation that only my summer application is up for review! Im excited that they’ve finally started reviewing our apps!!!

Major: Nursing or Microbiology
GPA: 3.67 Cumulative, 3.53 pre-req.
90+ credits getting my AA in june.
Also just wanted to add that I did get rejected from UW nursing but I think that is because my extracurricular activities were not that impressive so I am working on that. However I still want to go to UW to take some language and nursing classes as a general student.
Also I didn’t make my personal essay too creative. What do you guys think my chances of getting in are?

Also I wanted to add to my post that after comparing my personal essay to my friends who did get in as transfers it was just and average essay. So were better than mine and some were worse.
