UW Visit

Ok, so basically I will be heading to Seattle tomorrow to do a campus visit and I have never visited before. I have the huskies as well as another school down to my final two, but I am giving an edge to the other atm. I need to see something in the next couple of days to sway my decision one way or the other. With that said, can anyone tell me some sites or places to see on my visit. Also, are there some restaurants you might recommend nearby for the visit.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi, the Seattle Duck tour is a pretty good way to see the city and it is very entertaining. I would also recommend going to eat in the UVillage, there are lots of great restaurants and lots of students hang out in that area. The Thai restaurant there is amazing if you like Thai food! I am actually also going to UW tomorrow, are you going for the business program thing? Hope that helps, have fun.

Oh you’re going tomorrow too? Well I am interested in business, but did not get the freshmen early admit. Is that program you mentioned only for those students or all those who are interested?

Yah the program is only for admitted freshman I believe, but you may want to check.

@ Cryto: Definitely check out the Suzallo library reading room, its pretty majestic. And go to the quad, if its sunny, the cherry trees are stunning.

if you are unfamiliar with Seattle, the Duck tour will get you familiar with it quickly. Downtown Seattle is an amazingly beautiful, diverse city…but there may not be time to see that. If you like football, get down to the stadium. Old…but so spectacular. If you like working out, the IMA is very impressive. University Village-retail area-should be seen just because you would probably be spending time down there. The AVE (UW’s little version of Berkeleys Telegraph Ave-ha) has some good ethnic food places. And the Quad (middle of campus) is definitely worth seeing. Red Square, the library, Greek Row if that is your bag (17th and 45th) is right out of a painting. Lake Washington, the Arboretum…UW sells itself pretty well-especially on a sunny day.
