Can I became valedictorian if I take less ap/honors classes other people but I make higher grades than them overall?..
It depends on your school, your competitors, and the math involved, which is very specific. Nobody here can answer your question with any validity, @zqadeer
You need to ask your guidance counselor.
Perhaps if you take FEWER, and not LESS, AP/honors courses THAN other people . . . .
You will need to find out if your high school uses an weighted GPA to rank students. At ours, an “A” in a regular class is is worth 4 points, an “A” in an honors class is worth 5 points, and an “A” in an AP class is worth 6 points. So, a student who gets a “B” in an AP class still gets 5 points which is higher than a student who gets an “A” in a regular class which is 4 points. Ask your counselor how they determine class rank.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
This is the definitive answer. None of us here knows you, the other students in your class, your your school’s grading/ranking system. Closing thread.
