Hi there!
I was wondering how all of you (if you please) achieved that goal, as well as your thoughts on how it will affect your lives going forward. How’s the college admissions process going for you?
Thank you!
Valedictorian has little impact in admissionas or afterwards. The people who care most are the person who gets it and the couple of students who lose out, and all their parents. I would set different goals if I were you.
I’ve already been named Valedictorian, however, I was just wondering if a kind of “networking” would be established as every school has different requirements.
It has had impact in some of my admissions and scholarship decisions, so I’m not sure if that’s entirely accurate…
Valedictorian isn’t picked here until the end of the 4th quarter grades/finals are done so valedictorian has zero impact on applications or scholarships.
My school has like 20/500 valedictorians because at least for this year its still based on unweighted GPA so anyone with a 4.0 gets it. As far as I know, I’m still in the running, but it really doesn’t mean much besides I get a better seat at graduation and have to talk :/. Kinda stupid tbh but the weighted GPAs are also stupid so whatever.
Lmao. No there’s not a special “networking” system for people at the top of their classes. It’s literally just a title, a pat on the back, and a speech. Colleges don’t even know about it when you apply. My valedictorian rank is worthless because as long as you have over a 4.0 then you’re automatically valedictorian. Again, no. Schools like Duke or Yale are not going to have special networks for valedictorians.
