I was wondering how much top colleges like MIT, Princeton, etc. value an IMO participation (as an international) if one did not necessarily win a medal/HM?

@Askingaround I’d say it depends on the selectivity process. Making the IMO team from an underdeveloped country with not much of a selection process/TST may not be as “impressive” as making IMO from the US or China, for example.

It’s not an underdeveloped country, but not comparable to the US. What about winning a first prize in the national olympiad?
