17 days guys!!! i’m crossing my fingers for each and every one of you!

@caffeinemolecule I want to say that I got my email the same day but I’m not positive…if not it was definitely within a few days

@caffeinemolecule I submitted mine on a Friday night, and I got it the following Tuesday I think. I think I saw somewhere about it being 2 business days after you send it in, so it made sense for me to get it on Tuesday. Of course when I logged in it only showed that I had paid for the application and that everything else was missing. It took at least 3 days for everything else to show up and a week for my test scores + CSS to show up.

when will we find out if decisions will be released on the 12th?

@nerdfighter23 I believe I am also the first person in the history of my school to apply to Vanderbilt! In fact, when I met with my admissions counselor after my PreVu visit, I asked a question that required her to look up my high school profile, and she couldn’t find it. I also know what you mean when you say you want it insanely badly…

@cawledgehopeful I believe in last year’s thread they posted about an email only a couple of days before, so maybe the Wednesday or Thursday of the same week. But the email said that decisions would be available on Saturday, but they were actually released on the Friday. So if we get an email saying the 13th, I would still expect it on the 12th.

this is the first year that Vandy is using electronic notification, so for the past few years students have had to wait a few days for their letter to ship in the mail. This year since we can access our file online, I think that we will be able to find out as soon as the decisions are released!

@rebeccaAnn They actually used electronic notification last year. They sent an email with a direct link the week of and applicants on last year’s threads saw their decisions on Friday, December 13th.

Yes im super nervous, i have wanted to go to Vanderbilt ever since i can remember! My mom went there and ive loved Vandy forever! I sure hope i get in, its 17 years in the making!

Thats awesome! My sister goes there right now and it’s been my dream school ever since I stepped on the campus 4 years ago. I love that it has rigorous academics but the people there are much more down to earth and balanced than they are a lot of the elite schools. Plus they have SEC sports, Nashville (which is always a plus), amazing abroad programs, a greek life, and a beautiful campus! I have gone to so many other places and none even compare…

@rebeccaAnn - where are you from? 9 classmates applying ED? Wow.

@lorielliott1 I’m from Texas and I go to a really large public school with the most National Merit Semifinalists in the state (35)! My school has always been really competitive, but this is the first year that Vanderbilt has ever really been on the map. I am from the South and I guess that it was only a matter of time before everybody started hearing about it because down here it has the reputation of “The Southern Ivy League”.

But there are only seven others that I know of and then a few that are applying RD!

@rebeccaAnn - We live in Oxford, MS - so many Texas kids come here to attend Ole Miss! My son’s second choice school (to VU) is UT - Austin. Ha!

Ahaha. You guys all live in actual towns/cities. Sigh…
Leavenworth, WA here, more of a village than anything else. German-themed tourist trap.
Pretty much everybody goes to college in-state, and most that don’t stay in WA go to Idaho or Oregon. Hence my being the first ever to even apply to Vanderbilt (:

Hey just so you guys know there is also a Facebook page for Vandy applicants! It has about 132 members and are bunch of current students that monitor the will answer questions school! You have to request join but they got back me in 3 days!

Lol sorry for all those grammatical errors I was on a treadmill! :">

That’s sounds really cool, what’s the name or URL? Thanks!

To bother doing something with the Facebook I made just to get extra stuff on games, or to not? Hmmmmm…
Hahaha. But yeah, what’s it called?

Oh wait never mind, I found it (:

Yeah I think I joined that group a long time ago hahah.

So am I the only one with a stronger SAT than ACT? I feel like you guys mostly talk about the ACT which is weird for me cause the SAT is way more popular where I am from! I took the ACT but I was much happier with my SAT score!
