But also congratulations to everyone who did get in to Vandy and good luck in your future endeavors. Sorry if my previous two posts seem bitter.
CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT IN!!! Vandy just happens to be for some people, and not for others. I’m sure everyone else in this thread will go on to do amazing things. Get out there guys!!
@wannagotovandy I’m really sorry to hear you didn’t get in. I think that out of everyone on here, you wanted it the most. I’m sure you have some great options though.
@EDHDAD Thank you for your kind words I’m a firm believer that some schools just aren’t good fits, no matter how much I might think they are. Not getting in was definitely a hurtful pang, but life is never easy. I’m excited to see what regular decision results will bring!
Denied with a 34 ACT and a 3.9 UW GPA. I am a volunteer firefighter, eagle scout, NHS officer, and many more. Well, I guess things happen for a reason. Everyone who is on this thread deserved to get in, so congratulate yourself on even applying to such a great school! I know everyone will go on to do great things.
Denied. Why is it that everyone else seems happy. I just got shouted at by my mom and told that I’m a failure with no sense of hard work when I worked my ass off for the essays and everything for this school. Talk about supportive parents :/.
I understand how you feel @fadingblue101 Truly, I do. Hang in there. They can’t control your life for that long
@felupe1111 Hell yeah you’re going on to bigger and better things Best of luck!!
Hey, listen! You are absolutely NOT a failure with no sense of hard work! Please know that you will find the right fit. My extremely overachieving, incredibly hard working child may NOT get into this elite school. This is a hell of a difficult school to achieve admission. If you even thought you had a chance at admission and applied says a lot about the student that you are! You are a winner! You will land at the right college for you, I hav faith!

Accepted!
Any international admits around here?
Any parents of accepted students come join the Vanderbilt Class of 2022 Parents FB page. Welcome!
If I get into a ED 2 school, do I have to retract my regular decision applications (or can I see where I got in regular)? I know once you get in ED you are committed, but I’m just curious to see how I do with my other schools.
@BilboBagans - check the ED2 school’s policy. I would guess yes but it’s worth finding out for sure.
accepted!!!
Going to an elite school does not guarantee success. If a student has “grit” and is a go getter, they will make things happen with or without an elite education. There is a lot of proof of this in the real world. The cost of college should absolutely be discussed as part of the decision process with your child. There is something to be said to be a big fish academically at a school vs. being the same as everyone.
@FoxRulz - you’re absolutely right. No school will make or break you. That’s on you as a student. There may be schools that have more support which is nice if you need/want that, but anyone can make their college experience what they want from it no matter where you are.
accepted yesterday ED2! Very excited. Nashville, Tennessee is going to be a big social change for a kid raised in a small town in mountains of Oregon. But can’t figure out where to find the financial award that goes with the acceptance letter though? We can’t hit the button to enroll and pay $400. until we know that the award letter is going to be about what the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) was determined to be before applying-
Does anyone know if we’re still considered for RD if we weren’t accepted?
