Let's start a roster to see who applied.

I did! Just visited last week in fact... my number one choice right now

I applied. I'm auditioning at Blair in two weeks.

i applied, too

Good luck on your violin audition.

BTW, in other posts, you stated Blair's admission was near 50%. Recheck your figures. It's gone down. Also, overall admission stats have no bearing on individual instruments. It's still a roll of the dice and what's needed for the orchestra, number of spots available, and how well audition goes.

As an example, an excellent pianist didn't get in ED. Outright rejection. She was more than capable.
Another example--voice. Almost 100 auditioned. Only 11 were accepted and even that is to be skewed by the type of voice (soprano, tenor, bass, etc) for which I don't have details.
Getting into music schools is very hard.

Thanks musictoad.
According to Vandy's website,
http://www.vanderbilt.edu/Admissions/freshman%20profile.htm#AdmissionData
111 out of 274 applicants to Blair last year were admitted. That's about 40.05%-- significantly lower than the year before, you're right. Are you a Blair student?

I applied.

Good luck, you all. :)

Goood Luck!

good luck to everyone...i hope to see you all there in the fall!!

i applied as well. best of luck everyone :)

i applied ED II to A&S

good luck!!

I applied too, gl everybody!!!

i applied!! i love vandy but i got deferred @ cornell so i'd probably go there over vandy but vandy is my 2nd choice

I applied EDI to emory and got in.. so vandy is a good bye for me ^^
Still an awsome school and would have gone if I was deferred or rejected from emory ^^
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE and HOPE YOU GET INYO YOUR 1st CHOICE SCHOOL

i would do anything to go to vanderbilt!! my parents convinced me that i wouldn't want to go to TN, so i didnt apply and when i realized i wanted to go there it was too late to apply :( .... everyone that applied good luck, you'll love it there!!!

wow, unfounded southern stereotypes ruin another perfectly good college experience...

wogus, I was in a similar situation...except my preference was reversed...anyway, I have a lot of friends at Emory and I know you'll like it there.

Have you had your audition at Blair? My son is auditioning there this week (winds, not violin) and I wonder if you could tell us what it was like. How long did it last, was it in front of panel, did you play more than what they said you would play, did they interview you, too, and did anything special happen afterward, like being invited to go out to eat, etc. We really appreicate any insights that would help next week. Thanks!

Puppydog86, I sent you a private message.

Puppydog86, I sent you a private message. One other thing-- Blair, unlike most schools, is good about not running too far behind in audition timing.

I applied there, I think it's my first choice. uh... I hope I get in!
