did you get an email from Vandy today? @chicagochica
No it was a physical letter mailed to my house. I did not get an email regarding admissions today @futur3clssof2o2o
if it explicitly says how much aid you’re getting then you most likely got in @chicagochica
No it said that based on my financial situation I do not qualify for need-based aid @futur3clssof2o2o
Never heard of that before… Why wouldn’t they just email it?
I’ve heard that aid is released at the same time as decisions but I’ve never heard of a physical letter in regards to financial aid being sent before a decision @chicagochica
I thought it was weird too! My mom sent it to me because I live on campus but still super weird especially because the letter was dated for april 12th which is obviously much sooner than the first wave has come out. @TerrierNation @futur3clssof2o2o
Does the letter say anything about a decision?
Nope it says some things like “if you choose to enroll or continue enrollment at vanderbilt…” and “we will be happy to assist you and your parents in any way to make it financially possible to attend vanderbilt…” but its pretty generic just odd that it was sent out early but who knows! @TerrierNation
@chicagochica wouldn’t read to much into it. I got similar letters from Columbia stating that I would receive FA if i did attend, and wasn’t even waitlisted. Two times in a row. lol.
That’s curious @chicagochica. I would guess that it’s not related to whether or not you were admitted as the FA office is independent of the admission office, but it certainly isn’t bad news.
On a side note, this definitely means the FA office at Vandy has at least started reviewing transfer applicants which makes a wave tomorrow all the more likely.
I’m impatient but I have to respect Vandy on their turn-around. They review applications in a little over a month while some schools takes 3+ months.
My application after a few problems with sending transcripts was finally completed a week ago. How likely is it I’ll hear back tomorrow?
@futur3clssof2o2o I am in the same boat. My application was not marked complete until I called them last Monday. Which school do you apply to?
lmao
@luckybaby college of arts and sciences. wbu?
My checklist says “high school transcript - GED” but I graduated from high school in 2017 and I did not get my GED. Should I call tomorrow?
@futur3clssof2o2o School of Engineering Computer Science major. Actually, I believe we still have chance to get our decision tomorrow lol.
@greekgirl123 You do not need to. Every one’s checklist says “high school transcript- GED”.
@luckybaby I hope so!! The anticipation is killing me. I’m applying for neuroscience.
If we don’t hear back tomorrow, when are decisions released usually? every tuesday?
