Vanderbilt vs University of Virginia?

I'm stuck... I was going to apply to Vanderbilt ED I, but then I toured UVA and I really liked it. I am out of state, unfortunately, so my chances of getting into UVA are small. I have a lot of questions...
As of now, my plan is to apply ED II to vanderbilt, and if i get into UVA early action, withdraw Vandy application.
If i apply ED II to Vanderbilt, how likely am I to get in?
Is there any difference statistically between Vandy ED I and ED II? Also, how likely am i to get into UVA?
What are yalls opinions on both colleges?
Is UVA easier academically?
Ive heard horror stories about Vandy students drowning under the course load and that scares me... Ive also heard that people at Vandy are kind of mean (I'm from the south and am used to the whole "southern hospitality" thing. I know a lot of Vandy people come from the north. Nothing against northern people at all).
Which college has better night life? I know UVA has more people, which is good because I currently attend a small school and I'm looking for something bigger. I feel like i'll run out of people to be friends with at Vanderbilt, since its only about 1500 per grade.
Here's a bit of background: 32 ACT
-2200/1420 SAT
-4.2 GPA (i know this is low, but i attend highest ranked/"hardest" school in my state)
-7 AP classes
-took all of the hardest classes offered at my high school freshman through senior year
-lettered in 2 varsity sports
-yearbook editor
-200 hours of community service
-studied at Cambridge university one summer, worked at a hospital another summer, a few clubs, etc.
-Im not in the top 10% of my class, but I dont think this will hold me back b/c my high school doesn't report class rank except for valedictorian/salutatorian.
I need anyone's perspective on these schools. General opinions and my chances of getting in are great. How likely is it that i'll get into UVA? And if not UVA, then Vandy ED II? Literally ANYTHING will help me. I just need some peace of mind.

Anyone…?

Vanderbilt and UVA have very similiar student bodies

The workload at Vandy is rigorous, but if you are smart enough to get in you can handle it

The vast majority of Vanderbilt students are down-to-earth.

Vanderbilt does have a good amount of Northerners but alot of those kids found the school appealing and tend to act similiar to the Southern kids on campus (hold open doors, say hello to people walking by, dress well, etc.)

Both schools have good nightlife, but I’d give Vanderbilt the edge due to being in Nashville.

Vanderbilt is the perfect size - big enough where you are always meeting new people but small enough where you see people you know

-

However, with all of that said your heart seems to be leaning UVA from the way you worded your post - so don’t be afraid to trust your gut

I have a friend who got into both (Vandy and UVA), however we are instate for UVA so that may have given her an edge. She did apply regular decision to both. Her SAT was like a 2100 and I know her unranked gpa was around a 3.85, she did track and cross country all 4 years but I think that was about it for EC’s, there may have been a little community service thrown in but I’m just not sure. She did take hard courses (not THE hardest) and scored very well on all her AP tests (4s and 5s only), but you seem comparable if not better. I have friends that have graduated from Vandy and they loved it, they’re really pushing it for me since I love the south, but I have heard that UVA is very similar in the whole southern thing. Honestly, just visit both and which ever one you can imagine yourself at, that’s probably the one you should apply to ED.
