Hi! I have a 3.9 GPA unweighted and a 4.87 weighted. I'm an editor of the school newspaper, a highly competitive figure skater, and heavily involved in the honors choir and various acapella groups at my 2,600 student school in Denver, Colorado. I have letters of recommendation from my AP Chemistry teacher, the regional chair of figure skating, and my newspaper teacher advisor. Since I only just began junior year I haven't taken a formal ACT or SAT but on the practice tests I've taken typically I earn a score of 34 on the ACT, and I got a 5 on my AP Human Geography class (the only AP available to sophomores last year). This year I'm taking four AP classes: AP Chemistry, AP English Language, AP Spanish Language, and AP United States History. I want to get into Vanderbilt more than anything - do you think I'll be able to get in?

You have a good chance. That figure skating looks good, I think it stands out. GPA is good, make sure to do really well on your official tests. 33 or up on the ACT or a 2200 and up on the SAT. Vanderbilt doesn’t have as high an incoming GPA as other schools on its level (3.75). However they really stress high test scores, but if you do get a 34, that would be great. Good luck!
