However I decided to quit football after 10th grade to focus on other things. Should I mention on the common app about how I lettered on varsity even though it was only for Freshman and Sophmore year?</p>

<p>Yeeep. The whole “don’t include EC’s you weren’t involved in for a long time” thing is inversely related to the level of involvement (leadership positions/awards/etc).</p>

<p>Yes. Varsity, two year commitment, make this a fine EC. If it were half a year of a minor school club or you had 10 ECs better than this one, I might say differently, but colleges understand priorities, interests change. Dont eliminate any multi-year ECs in which you won awards unless there are concerning issues associated with mentioning it. </p>
