<p>hmm do they care necessarily about the letter part? could you just say "been on varsity tennis for x years"? varsity letters at my school take more than a year/season for some sports so usually its only seniors or really amazing juniors that have even just one letter</p>
<p>I always say "Varsity Letter earned in _______ for ______ years."</p>
<p>At my school you only get a varsity letter the first year you make varsity, so in your case you would have been lettered your sophomore year, but i would check with your athletic department</p>
