Those designations are based on grade and talent levels within a high school and are all considered a school sport on the EC list. You can put the total number of years in the sport, "Soccer 3 years: JV (9,10), V (11,12), Co-Captain (11), Captain (12), MVP (12)." Be sure you put any leadership positions or awards when you list sports as an EC.

Varsity and non varsity both apply to school athletics. If you were on a team outside of the high school you attend, you would put "club team" or whatever it was.

Varsity refers to the highest level team in the school. If your school is highly ranked in the state or county, being on varsity is very good.

Non varsity can refer to freshman, sophomore, frosh soph, or junior varsity teams in the school. It's a broad term, so specify on the app.

wait...but on the drop down list apparently theres only

Non-varsity athletics
and
Varsity athletics
(I dont think you can just select a sport, you have to specify)

what if you did a combination of both then? Im not going to waste 2 lines to seperate them when they are clearly just one activity.

Also, yea it wouldnt be that big of a deal, but since our team is state champions (really hard to make varsity), i am asking this question

^did you two actually fill an application out (because from what i know, you cannot just do Soccer: 3 years...it has to be Varsity Soccer: 3 years, JV (10,11) Varsity (12)-and that of course would be wrong because your putting JV under varsity)

My D was varsity gymnastics and varsity chearleading (and dont laugh at that, she was co-captian, and it is athletic these days). Chearleading wont pull down, so she put below.
