Varsity only?

Do non-varsity sports matter on a college resume? I have continually played Hockey, but not for the school, and quit Foootball after JV. Can I put any of this on my resume?

Sure, why not? Colleges like kids who will play intra-murals in college.

if you're not being recruited, varisty/jv doesnt matter- shows commitment/personality.

I would include it, but honestly, if you think it's gonna change the decision of your application, you thought wrong. I only think a sport would benefit you would be if you were recruited for that.

Thanks for the input. On another note, is it important to be in academic-type extracurricular activities? You know like a Math club or something? So far most of my extracurricular stuff is either volunteer or recreational sports- like the ones I listed above and maybe ping-pong club. Nothing to show that I'm smart, can I let my grades speak for themselves?

i don't think you need math club or science olympiad if you don't like either. volunteer and sports are fine, but like someone said earlier, know that jv/rec sports won't make or break you unless you're really, really good at it.
