Varsity sport vs. AP class

Sorry, I already asked this in another forum.. but I didn't get satisfying answers. I'm hoping the Stanford forum will be more helpful

I'm going to be a junior, and I'm wondering whether I should continue my Varsity sport (I'm not that good), or take an AP class instead of it. I know EC's are important, but I feel like I'll be compared to people who took like 6 rigorous classes, whereas I took 5 + soccer. And please don't say "Oh your life's over because you took one less rigorous course" I love my sport, but replacing it will mean having a chance to learn another subject, which I'd love too.
ps. no community college classes or online classes for me during schoolyear

what would you do if tomorrow, you woke up, and college admissions (you automatically got into any college you wanted?) didn't exist anymore? or colleges, in general, disappeared?

varsity sports help more in my opinion.

Do what you'll enjoy more.

5 vs. 6 classes makes almost no difference whatsoever.

just drop the easiest ap class from you list and do your sport, that'll be much more useful for you.

Okay, thanks. :) because some people said varsity sport = better for UC's, but more rigorous courses = better for Ivy/Stanford

i know many people who got into Stanford with a courseload that had 2 or 3 fewer AP classes than those who got rejected
lesson: if you really love your varsity sport, pursue that over one more AP class
i think i read somewhere on Stanford's website that they want people who are so passionate about their ECs that they pursue them even if it costs their academics
