Vassar and Ohio Wesleyan

Hi,

I am a prospective student considering the two colleges. Besides the academic statistics (which I can see in guidebooks), how would you compare the campus culture, students and student demographics of the Vassar and Ohio Wesleyan?

Pete, no one answered, so I'm giving you an r05 bump.

Hmm...Very very very different. I'm not a student at either, but have visited Vassar, and my close friend is applying to OWU early decision because of his soccer interests and academic interests in OWU. As such, I'm going to compare these schools based off my reading of them, visits, and friend and i.

On an initial glance, I'd say both schools are near opposites. Different locations, different kinds of institutions (Vassar is entirely undergrad), and different political feel. Vassar is clearly a bastion of the left, where as OWU is perhaps more moderate feeling. Not necessarily conservative, not necessarily liberal, but balanced.

Sports are bigger at OWU. At least they're appreciated. Vassar, I think, knows that sports exist, but doesn't follow them.

Both attract many international students and limousine liberals. Don't know enough about Vassar for other comparisons.
