So I'm not sure at all if I would even have a chance at most of these places. My dilemma is my GPA and my ACT scores do not match up (showing how I'm a slacker in math). I had a really hard junior year due to some personal issues and it really affected my grades. Should I tell them? ok here are my stats:

ACT: 30
APs: 4 on US History, 4 on English Lit, taking 4 APs this year
GPA:............well ok it's a 3.2

I'm really hoping that my essay, reccomendations and tons of extracurriculars will blow them away and I'm probably going to apply early decision to Vassar.

I hate to say this but one big factor in getting into these liberal arts schools is what kind of background you have since these small schools love saying they have students from every nationality. If you are Native American, Hispanic or African American than I say yes you have a shot but if you’re not than I don’t think you do.

-LOTS of community service
-French Exchange club
-Student Council

If you know your grades are from a particular thing that happened to you, I’d make a note of it, but make sure you don’t seem like you’re whining or passing the blame. At my school, at least, you can tell your guidance counselor and he or she will include it in the secondary school report.

obviously these schools don’t have the same level of selectivity, so do you think it’s safe to count Sarah Lawrence as a safety? I was also thinking about Clark.
