I am not sure why BU is on your reach list.

My Prediction:

JM, GM, Pepperdine and BU - Yes
Vassar, Barnard - Probably not unless their applications are down
Scripps - Maybe
Richmond - Probably

hmmm, just wondering…what’s the reason for the GPA. because unless you do some explaining, its going to be hard.

Several reasons for low GPA.
- Virginia Beach requires 94 for an A.
- I took on more than recommended, all AP classes, a job and intense ECs.
- My school work usually plays second fiddle to ECs and socializing.
- I can be very opinionated. I let teachers know when they are wrong, which probably cost me an A in AP Geo, AP US Hist, AP English and AP Enviro.

Don’t create your list based on your SAT scores. Colleges care more about grades than SATs, although, obviously, they are part of the package.

I think it’s great to reach – you never know what will happen – but I think you need to be more grounded with your choices. BU is not at Barnard/Vassar level, but I suspect it may still be a reach. I know a student who didn’t get in anywhere because of her (and her GC’s) unrealistic expectations; her GC had to beg the “safety” that waitlisted her to change it to an acceptance. Don’t be this person next year.
