I’m currently taking AP calculus ab. If I get the credit, I might be able to skip calc 1. Is it worth it to do that or should I still take calc 1 regardless? I heard the calc 1 course isn’t taught as well as the level 2 courses, and I’m worried that if I skip calc 1 by using the ap credit, I won’t have such a great foundation. Also, if I take calc 1 I’m thinking it might boost my gpa because it would be somewhat of a review. If any current Vassar students have suggestions I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
Depending on what your math plans are there is a 1 semester Calc class for people who have done AB & gotten a decent grade, which reviews AB and includes BC, so you can go onto multivariable in the spring. The teacher is better than the intro calc one (actually, last year it was a fantastic teacher, but no telling who it will be next year)
Ok thanks! If you don’t mind answering: What’s the name of the professor? Not that it will really make a difference because it’s not like I’ll be able to choose the professor…
Jules Albertini. Not full-time (unfortunately). Last seen teaching Stats, but take anything he teaches- he’s great
