I'm thinking of applying to VDC/VDCN for September - June, but I have read bad reviews about their slow internet connection and thin walls. To those who have been there recently (past school year), would you say that the internet connection has improved significantly? And are the walls really THAT thin? I prefer living at VDCN since it is nearer Campus Drive (I don't have a car), but if VDC is better, then please let me know!

They just upgraded the network today. Its quite fast but it all depends on how many people are on and what theyre doing. Before today, it would cut out all the time around the late hours. But during the day is was great. Heres to hoping its always good from now on.

btw i dont think you can get into VDC this late anyway. im pretty sure theyre sold out already. I’m living in VDCN right now and I love it. Walls arent that thin haha. Part I hate the most is the loud neighbors at night and the weekly prank fire alarms at 7 am.

I don’t know, but I know someone who currently has no roommates right now in his VDC apt. If they can’t find anybody to live in those spots, I think he may get the WHOLE ap’t to himself, and still pay the same price.

VDC is better than Norte - bigger rooms, generally cheaper, bigger beds.
but i’m pretty sure there are at least a couple spots available because in an email they mentioned a deal where if you are a current resident and you get a friend to sign a lease you both get a $50 gift card to pay rent i think. but by now the plans are prob june-june and very limited plan options…
i don’t think it matters that norte is closer because during the school year there’s the shuttle for both. but if you don’t have anyone to take you to Albertsons or something maybe the distance will matter.

I’d just like to point out, the situation for grads is different than undergrads. For instance, yes a graduate can be living in Norte but there’s a whole section secluded for them… the graduate villa. I’m sure it’s beyond us how many spots there are, living experiences, etc.
