one of my international chinese friend applying to harvard says that class 11 and mid term grades are not verified . he is thinking of creating a fake recommender account and applying . will he be caught .although he will give the original transcript of class 12 final exam if being accepted
Harvard was stung in the recent past when a student submitted false documents. I would think they do a better job of due diligence nowadays: http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2010/12/16/harvard-wheeler-college-guilty/.
There is also a disclaimer on Harvard’s website that your friend should be aware of. Submitting one false document – even though originals will be submitted later in the process – is grounds for rejection.
Widespread fakery and fraud by Chinese applicants is not new or unexpected. A few years ago, my alma mater received six applications from one Chinese school. FIVE different transcripts were submitted. I hope your friend gets caught and rightfully denied. Do you agree?
Sometimes, it seems that the work by some put into cheating might yield more if dedicated to honest efforts.
