I took the SAT a few months ago (got a 1840) and I want to take it again in the next few months.

I saw that Veritas Prep have a course that is relatively cheap called "SAT 2400 On Demand". Basically its videos with explanations on the SAT and how you should approach solving questions and explanations on tips for solving them.

I wanted to know if anybody ever tried the "SAT 2400 On Demand" course from Veritas Prep (Its not the course with a teacher but just the videos themselves)?

Can anybody tell me if its worth the money(390$)? Do the videos really help improve one's abilities?

A couple people have asked about Veritas Prep’s online class; another thread is pasted below. I worked through the course a few months ago and I improved. The most unique thing about Veritas is that they have professionally-produced videos that cover all of their material. If you prefer video/audio explanations over reading from a book, then you might like this class.

I think that they have a free preview that allows you to watch a few hours of their videos, so you might want to try that first and see how you like it.

I am currently taking the SAT 2400 Live Online Course and, in my opinion, it is absolutely amazing. I also have access to the 2400 On Demand Course, and they are also great.

I am a pretty good student (all A’s), I frequently study, and I love to learn. However, when I took my first SAT, I did not do as well as I liked.

After going through the Veritas Courses, I have learned TONS of new tricks to crush my next SAT. I would highly recommend this course, especially if you want a simple way to boost your score. Of course, I’m not saying that by simply paying 300 bucks you will instantly boost your score. I have studied rigorously for my next SAT, but I know that it is going to pay off.

I am a teacher who does SAT prep with students through my school (no cost–anyone can sign up for the course), and I really like the SAT 2400 book that was the precursor to this Veritas Prep series. I highly recommend buying it and using the method outlined in that book.

The book stresses that improving your score that is heavily reliant on you putting in time working on SAT prep. I discourage any of my students for signing up for a paid course until they prove to themselves they will sit and do six hours of work per week. If you’re not willing to do the homework, then just sitting in a course or watching videos will not be worth the money. For some people, though, spending money is the only way to force themselves to work, though I think that’s largely because their parents are paying for it and nag them into studying in a way that wouldn’t happen without the financial investment.

This course is not worth it and the guarantee is worthless. My son’s score went down in the 2 areas the college he wanted to go to look at. His writing went up but Indiana University does not look at that. They would not refund the price paid. I would recommend any other study prep materials over this.

@Dmillhou While it is unfortunate that they “would not” refund the price ( i have no idea of the legitimacy of your claim) but I must note that prep materials are only as effective as the person using them. Your son was victim of one of three things: 1) a harsher curve/harder sections/unluckiness 2) Poor use of the materials/laziness or 3) being inept altogether
I used veritas ineffectively and went up 280 points
