Maybe this is just my pet peeve, but it annoys the heck out of me when people make the identical post for multiple ivys. Are you truly "very anxious" about going to Princeton? or Harvard? or Brown? or where ever else you have posted this or will any old ivy do? Perhas it would be better to just have the one post on the "chances" thread and list all the schools you are interested in. Save the Princeton thread for things or questions that are unique to Princeton. --coldcomfort

Kaif Al Haal,

I'm a Sudani too (from Dongola).

You don't seem to have a problem with your extracurricular activities. Your strong passion for humanitarian activities will look excellent.

However, you really haven't said much about your academics besides that you have a 3.7 GPA and telling us your courseload for this year (which is relatively impressive).

If you haven't done so already, you should definitely take SAT II's . If you have already taken them, please post your scores.

Other than that though, things are looking good. Please make sure to make another chances thread when you've gotten your scores for the June exam.

You posted in every s ingle ivy league forum except dartmouth and upenn. Prestige should not be the only thing you consider. If you want to spam all the ivy league forums just post a generic chance thread in the "what are my chances forum?"

you're annoying.

edit: oops i guess im a bit mean. apply to one school you like a lot ED and you'll boost your chances a lot.

Actually, if you look through my posts I have also written on the Tufts, NYU, Georgetown, and UVA boards.... I am aware that prestige isnt everything, but it just so happens that some of the school I am interested in are Ivy League. This is my first day on this website and I didnt realize there was a board in which i can put my general inquiries instead of posting them on the individual schools' boards. There is no need to be rude.

What's wrong with wanting to apply to the most prestigious schools? He/she just wants to know how impressive these stats would be to a school like Princeton, or the other schools this was posted on. If it's so annoying, why did you read the post or even bother to comment?

Anyways, I think you clearly stand out as an excellent applicant. Your gpa could be higher, but you also have a tough course load. Make sure to keep taking APs your senior year.

I think your ECs and keen interest in Sudanese affairs will set you apart from many applicants, and I think you have a good chance at many top schools, including Princeton, in my opinion. Just concentrate on your test scores now. However, you should know that admission to any of the most prestigious schools is (I would say) extremely difficult and nothing at all is certain. But-- you've definitely done more EC activities and have been more involved in the community than I was, and I was admitted to Princeton, and will be going there in the fall :)

I really appreciate your words of encouragement 1AmongMany! I will keep studying for my SATs! Enjoy Princeton in the fall!
