Quick post here, going by these facts alone, what are my chances for getting into all or any of the UC's?

SAT 2300
GPA 3.8 UW /4.5 W
6 "5's" on AP
only two significant EC's

thanks

oh btw, EECS for cal/LA.

what are these ECs??

Yes, what are your ECs? Any honors/awards? How will your essays be?

essays: one is very strong, and the other is fairly good

ECs: 200 hrs of community service in one form or another. :)

honors: nhs, ap scholar w/ distinction

Good chance.

I'd say:

Berkeley: high match - match
UCLA: match - safe match

The rest of the UCs are safeties.

they are both very hard to get into, but you have a good chance for both.

knowing about the hollistic method the top UC's really take a look at you in an all-around manner, but needless to say 3.8/2300 you're pretty much a good match to both.

Thanks folks :)

would anyone else like to comment? i'm worried about only having two EC's and I'm applying to the engineering schools in the campuses which are more selective :/

Hmm, I didn't see that bit. If your ECs can't really distinguish you, I'd say Berkeley's at best a slight reach. What are they? Are you very passionate/devoted to them? Do they have anything to do with your intended major? If it's just volunteering (as you said above), Berkeley EECS is probably a slight reach - reach, even though your SAT is very high.

are you ELC?
because if you are.
YOUR LIKE GUARANTEEED IN
AT UCSD
AND LIKE 60% chance at UCLA/UCB
which is almost like YOUR GETTIN IN
you know?

^^ by that logic, everyone has a 40% chance when applying to the University of Chicago.

The "chance" based on percentage doesn't work, because chance assumes that the event is random. Admissions are not random.

one of my EC's is tutoring mathematics, which relates to cs/ee i suppose
my other volunteering is in a hospital as I would like to attend medical school after getting my degree, but I am not sure how I can convey this in my application.

I've also taken both AP Comp Sci courses and received 5's

please allow me to elaborate on my academics:
i made a couple of errors on the original post; i received a 2320 and 7 5's on AP tests. also, my weighted GPA is slightly higher than that (by 0.1 or so) SAT Subj Tests: Math2C 800, Chem 750, USH 770.

I am also taking nearly all the most difficult classes offered at my school and will be taking 5 more AP exams this year!

i am quite confident in my essays, i'd say they are about an 8.5/10 overall if that can be said about an essay ;)

yes I am ELC. and I think I'd prefer UCLA over UCB because of area, social life, environment, etc.. even if the UCB campus is absolutely humongous

Did I miss it or did you not say yet whether you are in-state or not?

sorry, yes, I am in state.
