So I decided earlier today to separate my friends lists into smaller lists such as Family, Work, etc. to enhance my privacy.

To test it out, I typed out a test status update and then clicked the mini lock and set the privacy setting to custom so that I could specifically hide the update from a certain list. Usually when you type someone's name, underneath there will pop up the full name so that you can just click it. It's supposed to work the same way for lists, however it has not worked this way for me. I type in the exact name of a list and I get nothing. I even tried just typing in the name of the list without the little popup underneath and it didn't work, as if the list doesn't even exist. However, I checked, and all of my lists are still intact.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I didn’t even know you could do that. Just don’t post anything you don’t want everyone to see

Lol… great advice.

No, but seriously, that’d be a great option if I didn’t have certain family members added. Other than that I don’t really have a problem but since I do then I need this added measure of privacy.

dude i’ve trying that for a while. It works on and off, sorry i cant tell you any solutions but you can always email them. They reply really fast.

Thanks for the response man I’m glad I’m not the only one having problems with it.

Limited profile, my friend.

agree with rockermcr.

Also, I’ve put my friends into lists and stuff, and then one day I log on and my lists are nonexistant! So … don’t trust it.

Doesn’t a limited profile just hide ALL of your status updates from the FB friends in this category?
