I'm going to be an aerospace engineering major. Would you recommend placing out of intro calc with AP credit? Or, Should I retake the class for an easy A?

Yes, I know this wasn't THAT important...just take a look at the previous questions I asked on this board.....exactly, 0 responses

Also, anyone else joining the Air Force ROTC?

I don't know much about this, but from what I've heard of with engineering is that its really hard to get a good gpa and its hard to get all the courses done in 4 years as it many times takes more. So both of those go in the opposite direction. My gut reaction would be to go onto the next calculus course but I would talk to your advisor or a professor in the engineering department about it.

When you go to orientation you will have a chance to discuss your course load with your advisor. Though my first thought is to go with harder course work..as a freshman in college it can be overwhelming and taking a class you feel comfortable in may be good if you have alot of time consuming course work..(for example if you have to take English 101 you will most likely have to do a lot of writing).
But you want to make sure you complete your classes on time and dont get stuck with a bunch of hardcore math courses at once.
So I think you should ask the advisor for pros and cons when you schedule your classes at orientation.
