Very impressed

We just returned from a visit to this beautiful little school and I wanted to share our thoughts about it. I must admit, I wasn't familiar with it, aside from knowing that it was a small Philadelphia area LAC, so both my d and I went in not knowing what to expect. We were both very impressed with everything about it. The people we met there, students, admissions officers, even the security office staff (we left a bag there and went back to retrieve it), were all incredibly warm and kind. The resources that the students have at their disposal are amazing for such a small school: the tri-college offerings, the facilities, the study abroad programs, the undergrad research, the proximity to Philly, etc.

My d just loved it and is so glad we took the time to go up and see it for herself. She said she appreciated their Honor Code; both the academic and social aspects really appealed to her. Time will tell whether she has the credentials to be a competitive applicant. It is an expensive school and come next year if she is fortunate enough to be admitted, the FA would need to be there in order for her to attend. Those are the two biggest factors I can see for her. But, I encourage anyone who is interested in a small, intellectually stimulating, and very accepting and cohesive community to take a closer look. Folks from down our way really haven't heard of Haverford, but boy, to us it is a hidden gem.

Our S is a member of the class of '15 and would describe his experiences with the Ford just as you have from your visit. The school is really what it appears to be.
