As a parent, I am asking this of both parents and students. My S will be going as will both my wife and I. She has not visited Haverford and wants to see the campus. The sessions seem interesting with optional tours and separate sessions for students and parents. Anyone else plan on attending?

For anyone interested, we found this to be very helpful - candid, informative and comprehensive. S stayed over and this truly confirmed all of his expectations. He will be a member of the class of 2015.

Congratulations and welcome!

As the title says … Everyone was gracious and helpful. We think our S is going to really enjoy his time at the 'Ford.

englishjw, what were the schools your son was deciding between in the end?

Thanks for the update.

Did you get a chance to take the Blue Bus over to Bryn Mawr?

@HC Alum No, we didn’t get to take the blue bus over. We opted for the dark gray Prius. Bryn Mawr is a terrific looking campus. One senior and one junior who are majoring at BM but attending/graduating from HC spoke to a group of parents. They made the bi-co sound very practical and possible. As we drove around we were literally astounded at the number of local colleges we had never heard of. We even stopped in to THE Merion Cricket Club. That too was sensational looking. We were unaware of it but captivated by the stone gate.

Ah, the Cricket Club. One of my custom’s people told me that was actually the Haverford State Hospital/Asylum (abandoned and other end of town) and I believed her for the 1st semester…

Did you see the Baldwin School for Girls by BMC? Especially in the fall with the giant weeping cherry trees and their silhouette against the school and a dark sky strikes an eerie scene.

HC Alum

Yes we did see the Baldwin School. The trees in bloom actually caught our attention. We stayed at the Villanova Conference Center (VCC) since it features the Monroe Mansion. Unfortunately, the main house was closed throughout our visit. Driving around, it was astounding how many colleges and private grade schools there were in the general area.
