<p>If you want to be safe, double spaced 12 point Times New Roman always works. But I don’t think it really matters. I mean, I used Comic Sans, and it didn’t affect my results.</p>

<p>NO…use single spaced. Double spaced is prohibited in most of the college supplements, and hence you should also avoid in the common app.</p>

<p>Do not double space!!! Some schools REQUIRE that the essays NOT be double-spaced. Bear that in mind and be on the safe side.</p>
