Sorry if this has been posted already, but how are we going to view decisions? Will it be through a portal or email? Thanks in advance.

Email @ 5:00, but this is a rough figure.

Can we log onto the admitted students website with the same access pin we use to view our application? If so, then perhaps we can get a sneak-peak at acceptances before the emails are actually sent…

It’s by email as long as you selected that option on the supplement

Gord, you can’t do that. They close it and don’t open the form until 5, as I recall.

As long as you didn’t sign up with a hotmail/windows live/equivalent email, things should arrive quickly. If you did, CHECK YOUR SPAM.

Also, acceptance emails are usually the first to be sent out.

When do the snail mails arrive? I requested not to receive an email.

They will be mailed on the 30th I guess so however long it takes for a letter to get from Boston to wherever you are.

My mailed package took more than a week to arrive. You’re in for the long haul. If the wait just cuts you open then you should be able to call the admissions office and ask.

misterg what do you mean the acceptance letters come out first? My D did not have the first 5 pm round for Brown. Is this a sign?

^ No, Brown is different. They stagger their decisions (alphabetically I think) to prevent the website from crashing. There is no correlation between time and decision. All other Ivies are at 5 pm on 3/30. Harvard sends emails to a large amount of people at once. Since the email message differs depending on the decision, they can’t send them all at once. The user above seems to think that the admission ones are sent first (which makes sense). They should be mere minutes apart, though.

Would it be too late to change the option at this point to receive an email?

I think it is too late but you can try to call them :)

You can still change it.

On your https://admweb.fas.harvard.edu/ha/Applicant/ApplicantFrame.html page, go to “Change Address/E-mail”. The bottom option is “Decision by E-Mail?”. You can change that to Yes or No.

The change won’t process until overnight, so it won’t appear any differently until tomorrow.

Is it just an email or is there a login component?

^ Just an email, I believe.

Just an email
