Hi, I was accepted to the College of Arts of Sciences at Villanova. I applied to that school because I thought it was easier to get into the business school. My plan was to transfer into the business school after freshman year, but how difficult is that to do? Will I have to meet certain requirements? Thanks

Sorry I meant to say I applied to Arts and Sciences because I thought it was easier to get into than the business school. Sorry for that typo.

I think you’d have better luck posting this on the Villanova page. At some colleges it is very hard to do an internal transfer (especially if one school is harder to get into than another) and at others it is not a problem so be careful.

My son is a junior at Villanova. He was accepted to College of Arts and Science as a Computer Science major, and after two years, he finished the CS minor, and decided to become a communications major, also within the College of Arts of Science. My son also attended the Villanova Summer Business Institute between his sophomore and junior year and he had some rich experiences there. If you wanted Villanova Business school, you probably should have applied initially; however, keep the faith, there are a lot of ways to achieve your dreams. Is Villanova the school you want? If so, you can find a path, but that does not mean you will be accepted as a transfer to the Business school.

Check with the admissions department. I took my son to an open house because it is one of the top schools on his list (he’s a junior). They were very clear in saying you apply to the school you want but do not expect to transfer to a different one once you are admitted. That means it’ll be a reach for my son with so few admitted to the business school. Good luck.
