My son’s first choice of schools is Villanova. He applied early action for the business school. He was deferred. I’m wondering if I should take Villanova off of his list of our FAFSA so he has a better chance of acceptance. We most likely won’t get any financial assistance anyway because of his dad’s salary ( we are divorced ) . Anyone have any advice ??
It won’t matter. If he isn’t eligible for need based aid, the school would know that from the CSS. If it is a need blind school, they don’t care.
Do other things to make the school take a second look - send in improved grades, send in a letter expressing interest, have someone from your parish send a letter, work the alumni network.
Your S can send a short note of continued interest to his admission officer and mention any notable achievements since the application was filed (if there were any)…if it is true he can use the wording “if accepted I will attend”.
And it should go without saying that your S should also have applications in to other schools that he would be happy to attend.
