Are there any current nursing majors out there? If anyone has any information about Villanova's nursing program, I'd love to hear from you. When do students typically begin clinicals? What is the average SAT score for accepted nursing majors? I've read all the information on the VU website, but I'd love to hear more! :-)

Hi Lauralice - my D will be Freshman next year as a nursing major at Villanova. I highly suggest you attend the School of Nursing open house (check the website or call). You will get all of your questions anwered and get a great perspective of the schools.

My D got accepted to 5 other nursing programs but Villanova was the only one who seemed to have their act together....maybe because they've been around longer than the other schools. They are getting a brand new state of the art building just for the School of Nursing.

The clinicals, I believe, start at the end of your sophomore year. So before you move on to your upper division classes, you will get a great exposure to the career and know whether you want to commit to it or not.

As for the average SAT scores, I can only go by what their websites say. If you have really good SAT scores and apply EA, then your chances are good. My D's scores were in their average range and got deferred to RD.

Hope this helps. I'm sure I have more to tell but short of time. I will keep you posted, if you'd like, as my D starts the program.

Good luck!
