Hi everyone, this is my first post on CC and I would like to see if anyone has any thoughts on my chances of being accepted to Villanova. This can also serve as a thread for regular decision applicants for the Class of 2020. Here is my info:
Gender: Male
Race: White
Economic Status: Not applying for financial aid
Attend highly competitive, top ranked public school in Connecticut
GPA: ~3.3 (Weighted)
ACT: 34 Composite
5 Honors, 3 APs
High school does not rank
Extracurriculars: ~15,000 (fifteen thousand) hours of volunteer work during high school, outstanding leadership experience, foreign exchange student, culture club
Essays: Very strong
Teacher Recommendation: Very strong from math teacher
Counselor Recommendation: Very strong
Additional Recommendation: Very strong
Strengths: Test Scores, Extracurriculars, Recommendations
Weaknesses: GPA is low compared to ACT scores
Applying to College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as Math major
ACT is very high, GPA is lower than average admit tho. Extracurriculars can tilt in your favor. 15000 hours of volunteer work is like 10 hours a day for four years… i find that hard to believe but kudos to you for doing it
