@engineering2020 my son applied EA to VBS. He has a SAT math score of 740. Surprised at the deferral. He had great ECs, leadership ( treasurer of his class and treasurer of NHS). It’s just very competitive right now for the business school.
My daughter got that email today too. I just checked her portal; it’s still active and still looks the same. I really thought decisions would be out today! Now I wonder…
@momnewengland my son received that email yesterday. They probably send out in batches.
@pkchamp89 - I was surprised at my son’s deferral for VBS too. His Math SAT was a 720. Top 20 in his class and many leadership roles including President of Math Honor Society, President of Key Club (Community Service) and Director of Student Theater for 2 years. But people here are telling me he might not get into VBS at all, let alone any scholarships or grants.
@engineering2020- He applied to engineering school. Fingers crossed for a RD acceptance. I hope this does not mean we have to wait 2 more weeks for a decision.
@CP3rdTimeAround I definitely agree with the above poster that the merit aid. If you go back to earlier threads the applicants getting accepted to VBS have very high stats. 32+ on ACT, etc. When we visited Villanova, the admissions counselors stressed that EA admissions was extremely difficult and were reserved for the top applicants. You just never know. Good luck to your son! I hope he gets the answer he wants to hear.
Yes VSB very difficult. And if you don’t have a hook like a relative who is and Alum or are an URM or femaie it can be tough.
He had a first cousin who is an alum - 2008. I am hoping that helps. He’s a very well spoken, well rounded, polished young man and I think going to Villanova would help him a lot. But he has other options - Marist, Fairfield, quinnipiac, Fordham. And a few more.

@CP3rdTimeAround I think the environment of learning that Villanova provides would be a perfect fit for my son as well. He really has his mind set on Villanova. Crossing our fingers. Hopefully, we will know soon.

Just some past info…RD released Thursday March 19, 2015 and RD released Thursday March 20, 2014. So, educated guess may be today.
I saw on last year’s thread that people who were waitlisted or denied still had their deferral letter up on the portal right before decisions came out where accepted people had their portals change. Don’t know if that will be the case this year…

The likelihood is very good, I think, for 5 pm today eastern. My son’s deferral from EA came at 5 pm when it was released. But… Then again… Nothing is set in stone in the admissions process. Lol
I have a 3.85 W and 32 ACT, along with 2 letters from alumni…I was feeling okay about results but my portal hasn’t changed and now I’m terrified…it’s my top school
My deferral came at around 5. I’m in NJ so i’m thinking that it will be the same thing today
