I have never been to Villanova, but heard it’s a greats and worth applying to. I just have a couple questions before I apply to Villanova. Is it prestigious? Preppy? Hard to get into? Does it have a great student body? Lastly, does it have a great nightlife with fun things to do?
Their basketball team is good. In terms of their student body, i’ve heard the term “Vanillanova” used. So if you want diversity, it may not be the best option…
@WildestDream Diversity is hard to come by at many top schools.
Not quite @Chuol10. Many top universities ENSURE diversity
What do you want to study? It’s in a great location on the main line. A short train ride from PhIly.
Villanova is moderately prestigious but nowhere near UPENN, Princeton, Swarthmore and other top tier nearby schools. No one will look down on you for going to Villanova, but few people will be wowed either.
They have about a 50% acceptance rate, so the are only moderately selective. In my opinion they have a GREAT campus that combines the best of a college in the suburbs with easy access to Philadelphia. There is plenty of nightlife both at the University and in the surrounding area.

They got #1 overall for undergrad business schools. I’ve seen people arguing about whether it deserved it, but either way I think its prestige will be on the rise
New statistics were released and the class of 2020 had the highest academic qualifications of any accepted class. The US News national rankings of colleges are being released on Sept 13. This will be the first year Villanova will be ranked as a national university. I would think the acceptance rate has gone down with the class of 2020. I have learned that the acceptance rate for each college in the university can vary. For instance, VSB has a much lower acceptance rate than CLAS.
Does any know what Villanova looks for in a transfer student? I saw that they take people with a 3.0 in college but i thought it would more complex since they take incoming students who have a 4.0. Is there any way I can solidify my chances? Thanks

Villanova was ranked #50 in National Universities tieing with Penn State. I’m a bit surprised as I consider Villanova somewhat better than Penn State. I expected them to be in the 30s but #50 is quite good.
Villanova is a Catholic school on the Philadelphia mainline. Preppy, but, not super-preppy. Nice grassy campus in super safe area and nearby to all the shopping and dining of the mainline. Train goes directly into the city; takes about 20 minutes to get there. There are several other colleges within 5 minutes from Villanova, and they do socialize: Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Cabrini, Eastern, Rosemont. I know I’m missing a few more.
