Villanova vs Kelley

Hi I’ve gotten into both of these schools and the cost of attending will be the same for me after considerations of aid and everything… Would like any suggestions on choosing between these two

Go with fit.

Both have strong business programs. Overall Villanova will have the stronger student body and is a stronger school, but Kelley evens out the field somewhat. Go with what fits you the best. Personally I’d go nova for the stronger overall school.

I am an international student so I don’t have the option of visiting and checking the feel

Would you rather work in the midwest or on the east coast after college? Both have great reputations, but I would go with which one is closer to the area you’d rather live in.

Villanova will have mostly Catholic, upper-middle class/wealthy students with very strong academic preparation. Its network is strongest on the East Coast and its location near many big cities is very helpful both for visiting the US and for internships.
Kelley will have much more economic diversity but most students will be from Indiana or the Midwest; the academics are strong but student preparation varies accross the board and there’s significant weedout. The business school’s quality means great networks in the Midwest. The IB workshop is selective but has connections in NYC.

Both great schools…in great locations. I disagree that Villanova is a better university than IU. They are both excellent in their own way. Villanova is Jesuit (Catholic), mid-sized, and suburban. IU is very big, public and in the heart of a quaint college town. Another way in which they defer, and as an international student, that may be of importance to you, is in the diversity of their student bodies. IU has 3,500 (11%) undergraduate international students. Villanova has 100 (2%) international students. There is a decidedly stronger international presence at IU. Also, IU (and Kelley in particular) has a very strong reputation internationally. Finally, assuming you did not receive any financial aid or scholarships, IU is roughly $15k/year cheaper than Villanova.

Villanova is Catholic, which is probably the important point here. But it’s not Jesuit – it’s affiliated with a different Catholic order, the Augustinians. The Jesuit university in Philadelphia is St. Joseph’s.

Thanks for the correction Corbett.

I am a kinda fun loving guy who likes going to parties and play sports but also would like to take academics seriously and would prefer east over midwest to work in after …considering these what do you think would be a good fit…kelley or villanova @Alexandre @MYOS1634

Both would work. There’s no wrong choice.
