VIP Application Vs. Common Application?

I have been receiving a bunch of emails about "VIP" applications, like the Golden Gopher Application for example. The general statement that most of these give is: No long essay, short application. I looked through one and noticed it had a short essay section however. My question is, if I have already finished my common application, would submitting the college's own VIP app. instead of the common app. give me a better chance to getting admission? Or does it really not matter?

This won’t answer your question, but it is an important detail if your counselor or teachers are submitting school forms online: those forms will not arrive at their destination college until and unless you submit a Common App to that college. If you use an alternate application of any kind, colleges cannot access your school forms through the Common App system. (It’s also worth pointing out that all Common App members agree to treat applicants equally, regardless of which application they use.)
