Just got a VIP application via e-mail -- does this mean anything?

Means you get to apply for free

They're also promising a decision within 21 days. My son has received several of these from different schools. One school actually indicated that they would accept him. My daughter, who's now a college sophmore never received any and there isn't much difference between the two of them academically. Is this something new or have schools been doing this for a while?

My son just applied vi the VIP. As a parent, you gotta love the no fee. But the app. seemed much easier. Only 1 rec. needed and the essay could be a paper done in school.

how do they choose who gets the VIP app?
i would like to apply there, and i think my scores are appropriate for a VIP app (i was offered free application to a few other school, but i really would love to apply to vermont)

That's a good question. I have no idea how he got the UVM VIP app. or any of the other apps. waivers on line.

Has anyone recieved a decision with the VIP application yet? I'm about to send mine out Tuesday.

VIP App. sent in 2 weeks ago -- still no word -- they say it takes 21 business days to get a response.

Good luck to everyone!!

Son heard today that he has been admitted>>used a vip application< sent in about 30 days ago

Was that online, email, or snail mail?

i sent in my VIP app and i just got my desicion back today. accepted!
i talked to a rep at a college fair, and he said that it gives you an advantage if you apply with the VIP app. i got my acceptance back really quickly too, about 2 weeks after i applied.

Applied 10/21 and still waiting. Anyone else get a decision?

Decisions are being sent and you should hear before Thanksgiving break. I think it is 21 business days from the time you get listed as application complete.

i called today and got my pin but now i cant figure out if im in or not? i dont know what to do... help?

You need to go the "I've submitted my application. Now what do I do" section on the admissions page. Input your pin and check your status.

update: I went onto the UVM website, and for students who are interested in the VIP app, there is an email to which you should send your mailing address, email address and standardized test scores. If the person (or computer, I really dont know) sees fit, you will receive a VIP very shortly.

I applied through the VIP mid october (after doing the above), and received my decision this week. A few days later, I was accepted to the honors college. I received my decisions by snail mail.

I applied via the free VIP application a couple of weeks ago, but I never got a login/password to check my application status. Is there something Im missing? What should i do?

I didn't get a login/password until nearly three weeks after I submitted my application. I didn't even know about it until I got a letter in the mail and my parents thought it was my acceptance letter. Silly parents... But anyway, that was dated Nov. 20, I submitted mt application Oct. 30, and I received my login and checked my status online only to learn I was accepted on Dec. 1. So be checking the mail. Even if you don't get the password, you should get your decision soon.
