VIP/EA Decisions (Class of 2017)

Accepted to Engineering!
3.9
730/760/750 SAT
780/770/730 SAT II
AP Scholar (5, 5, 5)
Pretty generic ECs, I guess
from MA!
Probably going to be too expensive, but a free app didn’t hurt!

I applied on October 28th and heard back today!

I’m not very impressed. Applied as VIP/EA about 2-3 weeks ago. Recruiting info stated a quick decision turnaround of 1 week.

Online status now continues to claim 1 week, but also advises that it could be two weeks. They go on to state that VIP/EA could be Dec.13th.

Prospecting of this type, along with offering App Fee waivers, is both misleading and unprofessional.

Taking UVM off my list !!!

@soccersara122 what grades/ sat scores did you have?

S sent application on the 5th (extended EA deadline d/t Sandy). Got a phone call to cell on the 8th from a senior congratulating on admission, but nothing in mail. He’s thrilled, I’m cautiously (?sp) optomistic. Will need to check email when he gets home from school today.

lkwpske, I can imagine it is very frustrating to have to wait longer than indicated (especially with others receiving decisions), but crossing the college totally off your list because of that seems a bit extreme. My understanding is that the VIP decisions are rolling and the standard EA ones can be expected on/by December 13.

Perhaps before crossing UVM off your list because of this, you can (nicely) contact Admissions and ask them about it.

Congrats!
When did your application become “Complete” on the UVM Application Summary? And when did you hear that your were accepted?

Not sure when it became complete although I’m sure it has to do with them downloading your commonapp and your guidance dept. getting all their info in - mine had. App went from EA status to VIP status when decision went to “admit”. I first saw admit on 11/12 and received email from college yesterday with congrats. Good Luck

Admitted yesterday!!
Submited application on the 30th, but my school files were not sent until last week because of the hurricane.
GPA: 93.5
ACT: 29 (31 Superscored)

Has anyone that put nursing as their major heard a decision yet?

I am a VIP candidate that submitted around mid October! I am 99% sure I will be accepted and I haven’t gotten a reply! The application still says complete! It has said complete for at least 2 weeks.

Got my honors college letter today!

i have the exact same concern as elh330. i applied from new york city at the end of october and still havent gotten anything back. i have a 29 act with a 3.5 gpa and tons of extra curriculars and a great essay. what is going on?

laettner2 and elh – which school within UVM did u apply to? Maybe certain schools take longer to get back to applicants.

My previous post about “removing UVM” from my list was made in haste and not sincere. I agree with you however, the VIP/EA process is messed up.

I have communicated with UVM admissions several times and they are clueless as to the status of my app. Keep receiving computer generated responses.

I don’t know what else to say, I guess let them do what they do. I personally should have received decision several weeks ago according to VIP/EA guidelines.
