if ur instate, everywhere but jmu is a match, and im not sure about tech bc i think jmu and tech might want students to be top quarter of the class, good luck and it also depends what major u want to do at tech bc engineering is harder.

how do you go to a MATH and science high school and get a 560 on sat math???

thanks, tech and jmu are my first choices but I know my gpa and rank are really weak for them. Would class rank mean as much comming from a public high school that recruits intelligent students from the entire city for admissions.

I think you'll get into RMC. I got in even though my GPA is lower than yours and a much lower SAT score.

You are good at everywhere on this list except JMU and Virginia Tech, and possibly James Madison. Virginia Tech is a slight reach, and JMU is a reach.

Of the schools on your list where I think you have a chance to be admitted, I consider James Madison the best. I think you should apply here ED, since I think this would significantly improve your chances. You have to realize that James Madison's average W GPA is 3.68 with SAT scores of 579/583/605 (1767) and you are way below the GPA and just slightly above the SAT score.

Virginia Tech's totals are almost the same. The W GPA is 3.67 but they have higher SAT scores of 587/611/620 (1818). You could consider applying here ED instead of at James Madison, but your chances to get in would be slightly lower.

P.S. You should also know that James Madison puts a lot of people on their waitlist, but almost none of them get in. (only 19 out of 1614) So if you are waitlisted there (I doubt you will be), consider going to one of the other schools instead of fighting to try and get in off of the waitlist.

Best of success
