I’ve been accepted to the engineering program at both of these colleges and both undecided. I would to either major in computer science or mechanical engineering. However the computer science program at umass is a separate college. Overall which college is better for me in the future and which will give me a better education and later a good job??? Also I am an out of state student for Virginia tech so how does travel come into play? Pls help.
How much would you need in loans for each one?
From Philadelphia, you can fly into Roanoke’s airport and get a shuttle to VT (1/2 hr or so).
I have seen in these boards parents in MA complaining about the cost. Check different airports. Our “home” airport of Newark NJ was about $1200 for the flight, but from phollynit was anywhere from $150-350 dependjngnon the date. Huge difference
My D just committed to Tech - we plan to make the 7 hr drive mostly but from MA it’s far.
UMass is beautiful I’ve heard, and if it is significantly less expensive, save your money for graduate school.
