Virginia Tech Transfer Fall 2014

This is the moment of truth guys. I hope everyone gets in. Good luck!!!

Decisions are up. My sister didn’t get in :frowning:

Me either. Apparently my grades were good but my credits were not correctly transferable

I didn’t get in guys. 3.8 from vcu.

How many of the math, science, english classes did you have transfer? I got denied too.

I didn’t get in either, had a 3.74 after 2 years at CNU. Did they only release rejections today?

I did 1 year at VCU. I had taken all the requirements. I had 1 English finished and taking 1. 1 math finished and currently taking 1. And I had 1 semester of chemistry finished

@bilaldgenius what were you applying to?

Engineering. Honestly I thought I had everything needed to get into tech. Oh well…

Ok, I’m completely terrified now. I was accepted and set up my hokiespa account. While poking around in the different links, I clicked on one about basic information. It said I was out of state and I’m NOT. Does this mean they might pull back the offer? I checked my application and I filled out all the necessary paperwork. I never got anything verifying that I was in state but I didn’t think anything about it. I live in Virginia and attend NOVA so it’s pretty obvious that I’m in state. Has anyone else had this happen? Will it affect my acceptance?

how come the fb page won’t come up when you type it in the search bar? makes it hard for people to search it and join if they aren’t in this college confidential page

@mchck9‌ I was also placed on out-of-state status, despite me having lived in Virginia for the past 17 years. Then I emailed the financial aid office. They only said it was because the admissions office had me as such. So I contacted the admissions office and they worked with me to correct it. They said they changed it, and that it would take a few days for it to reflect on my status page, and this was over a week ago. It has yet to change.

I’m afraid I haven’t answered your question, but I am in the same boat.

Thanks Almris. So they obviously didn’t have a problem with correcting it for you. That makes me feel better. I’ll have to contact them on Monday and hopefully they’ll be as understanding with me.

@almrls where do you check your status if you’re in state or out of state?

I didn’t see anywhere to check status either before I got access to the HokieSpa

@Tech123 Well, this may or may not be accurate, but when you look at your financial aid letter, near the middle there is a table with your individual ‘cost factors’. Residency is listed there. Also, there was a discrepancy with the amount they were estimating I had to pay for tuition for 2014-15, which was $27,210. Divided by two, and that comes out to $13,605 per semester. This did not seem like an in-state tuition rate.

Ahh, I didn’t have a financial aid letter so there wasn’t anything that let me know there was a problem.

@Tech123 Hey, did you try the exact words “Virginia Tech Transfer Fall 2014”? We only have a few people so it’d be really great to have everyone join in!

Can you make it an open so more people can find it?

Im not sure I can make those kinds of changes. Im pretty sure hokiehopeful9 is the admin.
