Visa F1 reapplication questions

Hello, I am an international undergraduate student from Vietnam at Nebraska Lincoln who had just complete his first year . I was caught cheating on one of my final exam , which result in my first flag and will be the last one in academic intergrity. The professor was kindly enough to just put a 0 on my test and file a report to the student affair due to Covid-19 and online classes. At the end, I’m luckily enough to pass the class with a C and still be able to continue my classes with ease. However, what will happen to me when I reapply my Visa when I get back to my country this winter. Am I gonna get in trouble, do they straight up denied my F1 due to the flag ?

As long as your school lets you re-enroll and you are still making satisfactory progress towards your degree, you are satisfying the academic requirements to have your visa re-issued.

@thomasnguyen As long as the university reports progress in line with requirements in your SEVIS records, you won’t be facing any issues.

Why will you need to renew your F-1 visa after your first year in college? F-1 visa are normally being issued for the expected duration of undergraduate studies and your visa therefore should be valid for re-entering the US throughout this time period? Please clarify.

According to the visa reciprocity table, F-1 visas are normally only issued for 12 months for nationals of Vietnam. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/VietNam.html

@“b@r!um” Ok, this makes sense then - thanks!
