My son wants to visit the last week in April. Anything we should know? I'll call admissions of course. He's an admitted student and visited last summer but wants to go to classes and see students.

could you please share some thoughts for us after your son visits Reed? Some impressions.. anything :)

My son went for a weekend in October. Today I surprised him with plane tickets to got to RAD for two days; he's very happy, because he wants to be studying at Reed NOW. They just sent him a 2007 Reed calendar -- he's using it to mark off the days until he leaves for O-Week.

I second my request for you too TrinSF - it would be awesome if your son told us about the days spent there :)
And, how did he get that Reed Calendar? I want it too

He didn't ask for the calendar; it just arrived in the mail on Saturday. Maybe they're sending them out to all accepted prospies? I have no idea.

As far as his visits, "What happens at Prospie weekend stays at Prospie weekend" is his motto. :-) Basically, his experience has been that Reed has a very open, warm sense of community, and that the other students were like him, in being both very relaxed and non-competitive, and yet very intense about their intellectual interests.

Son hasn't gotten the calendar yet. I will be happy to come back and share my impressions after our visit.

He just got the calendar. Reed is really showing the love!

Spitfire, My son and I visited Reed in February. I wrote up a detailed trip report for another discussion forum, and several people on that discussion forum also shared their thoughts on Reed. I don't think I can post the link here since it is a competitor board, but would happy to give the link to anyone who PM's me.

Spitfire, I just PM'd you with the link.
