I am planning on visiting Brown for a second time sometime soon. I plan on doing an information session and tour (it will be my second time doing a tour, but I am doing it anyways). Is there anything else that I can do while I’m out there that could potentially help me in the long run? Could I track down my regional admissions officer and get in contact with him or her before I leave and possibly set up a meeting or interview? Any other ideas?

Go see classes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Audit as many as possible. Eat lunch without your parents and talk to people in the cafeteria.

I am arriving at about 7:00 PM on a Friday and leaving at 1:00 PM on Sunday. Are there any evening classes or saturday classes available for me to see?

Check the online course catalog or call the admissions desk for that info. Also, since you're there on a weekend, make sure you check out various campus events; major ones will be posted somewhere on the school's online calendar. Fish around a little! And when you're on campus, ask around when you see a student.

You won't be able to see anyone in admissions, so don't even try. They are all traveling around the country now, anyway.

You could email some professors and see if any are willing to meet with you. That's tough, though, being there only on the weekend. I'm pretty sure there are no classes while you are there.

I'd skip the tour and info session and go meet with as many students as possible. Hang out in the cafeteria for hours, if necessary. Get into Keeney Quad (where many freshmen live) and wander around, talking to students. Go to student events -- also look at the Brown Daily Herald online in addition to the school calendar. Try to find out if any of the clubs/activities you are interested in have meetings when you will be there.

Brown has a four-day weekend coming up; if you are there then, there will be fewer students on campus. I'm pretty sure it's next weekend.

I think it's actually a three-day weekend, fire, though a four day weekend would be nice! Columbus Day is Monday, and I don't believe they're off Friday or Tuesday...

Anyway, it is next weekend. And, Family Weekend is the 24th-26th, so there will be a lot of people there for that weekend.

franglish: oops, sorry, that's what I meant. Thanks for correcting me. We're not seeing our daughter that weekend, so I'm not paying too much attention to those dates.
