Given the COVID 19 Crisis, I don’t know how I’m supposed to visit a school to commit to for the fall.
Any advice?

That is the problem for most all students now. Even if a school were open, I would recommend against going. My son had a visit 2 1/2 weeks ago in an area school at a time there were not supposed to be any cases of the virus anywhere around. A prof tested positive a couple days later. Thankfully our son wasn’t around the professor of that professor’s students, but it was unnerving. 2 1/2 weeks have passed and our son didn’t get sick. I recommend you do virtual tours and read reviews of the schools (positive and negative) on College Niche, Students Review, this site. Call or email the school and see if they can connect you with current students you can speak with. Follow the schools’ social media pages. Some have recommended trying to read the school newspapers online to get a sense of things. Good luck! It stinks we can’t do college visits.
I work for a large public research university and administrators are requiring that faculty and staff STAY HOME. We are not allowed to go to campus to pick up things left in our office, etc. Right now formal visits are not an option, and anyone dropping by campus to walk around on their own would quickly be asked to leave.
It really sucks, but is necessary. Virtual tours online is about the most that you will get if committing to a school for Fall.
Every college should be doing virtual admitted student programming. All high school seniors are in the same position.
okay, thanks
I would also talk to your school guidance counselor. They must keep track of what colleges recent graduates are attending. If there are students from your high school attending classes at colleges you think you are interested in, maybe they can share contact info so you can ask specific questions about their experience.
