I understand Gambier is tiny and in the middle of nowhere. That said, is there anything off campus one should try and see when visiting?

your right it is small and unless you want to go all the way to Columbus there isn’t much here to see, but if you want to stay in a room overnight that would be something you can do to see what college life is about

I can’t wait for our visit. I want to check out the Kokosing Trail and visit some of the Amish communities. I have heard the area is beautiful and am a big fan of rural areas. Depending on your taste, you might just enjoy it!

McFarland’s is just west of Mt. Vernon. They are home to 110 llamas; I know that it is a strange “attraction” but it is one of our favorite spots to go when visiting our daughter in gambier.

Can anyone recommend a good spot for dinner?

If you don’t mind driving about 1/2 hour, go to KC Steakhouse and Ribs in Belleville. Just took our son and 6 of his friends there at college drop off. Looks a little shady from the outside (well, maybe the inside too), but the food is excellent as is the service. Everyone loved it. The ribs are out of this world!!! You can see more info if you “Google” it. The address is 844 State Route 97 West in Belleville for your GPS.

Leaving Wednesday. Anyone else?

The restaurants on campus are great- Middle Ground and Village Inn. Have a great trip!

The Indian / Greek called Bombay Garden in Mt Vernon is great!
