I understand that NYU/Tisch/CAP21 does not allow prospective students to sit in on/observe classes. But is there any special tour/program for kids and their parents who are interested in that program/college major and want to visit the school, take a tour, etc.?
My D continues to be quite interested in NYU/Tisch/CAP21 and I am hoping we might be able to pop up to NY in early April to take a tour. But before calling the admissions office, I thought I would ask any of your more experienced parents and students the best way to go about tailoring such a tour to my daughter’s particular area of interest. Thanks to everyone.

I didn't have that experience at all when I visited. I called and also made an appointment online through the visit site. I went to an orientation meeting at Tisch and got general info about the school. I then called CAP 21 and told them that I was prospective and asked if I could peek in the studios, and they said it was no problem. I sat in on a freshman jazz class (they were choreographing Ease on Down the Road) for about 45 minutes. Then I spoke with a few teachers and staff that were just hanging out in a lounge area. They were really helpful and enthusiastic, and didn't seem to have a problem with me asking questions and looking around. It wasn't a formal visit but I got a lot of information and it was a much more one-on-one experience.
